Extra index increase for social security benefits for the period 1 August to 31 December 2022

The Finnish Parliament has approved an additional index amendment for some benefits linked to the National Pensions Index. As a result of the index amendment, the amount of earning allowance, rotation allowance and mobility allowance will also rise. The amendment will increase benefits from 1 August to 31 December 2022. The amount of the increase will depend on the benefit and its amount. For example, the earning allowance defined for a monthly salary of EUR 2,621 will increase by about EUR 0.67 per day in gross terms, or about EUR 14.40 per month. You do not have to separately apply for an extra amendment. Aria performs the amendments automatically. The index increase is intended to safeguard the ability of low-income beneficiaries to pay during times of surging inflation.
